Szprotawa is located in the southern part of the voivodship of Lubusz. It has over 14 thousand inhabitants. It is a town and a community area including a commune of 8 thousand inhabitants. The town has a unique charm and is surrounded by beautiful green areas. Bory Dolnośląskie (The Woods of Lower Silesia) is to the south of the town. Szprotawa is near a convenient transportation route. The Wrocław- Berlin road is 30 km from the southern border of the town. To the east of the town, there is an international route from Scandinavia to Triest. The town is 132 km to Wrocław, 76 km to Legnica, 57 km to Zielona Góra. The nearest border crossing is 40 km away. The community offers the opportunity to manage a former Soviet airport and many other auxiliary buildings on the area of over 300 ha in Wiechlice, 4 km from Szprotawa.
